The story of our restaurant

Our authentic Mediterranean cuisine has been passed down over 3 generations

The story began at the bottom of Karine Anfosso’s grandmothers beloved vegetable garden in Nice.

In this little corner of paradise, Angèle introduced her son José, and her young granddaughter Karine to authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The three of them spent hours in the balmy heat of Angele’s vegetable garden collecting fresh ingredients to take back to the family kitchen to whip up Mediterranean masterpieces; which they infused with unique bohemian flavours, sharing secret family recipes that had handed down through the generations.

Le Cabanon, from Nice to Anduze

In 2010, Karine opened her own restaurant Le Cabanon. In tribute to her grandmother and her Father she created an atmospheric space that carried on the memories of those hours spent in her grandmother’s balmy French vegetable garden and her bohemian family kitchen.

Karine is now delighted to be able to share this authentic dining experience, and her age old family recipes, with you. Offering traditional Mediterranean cuisine, sprinkled with a wealth of memories and a slight hint of nostalgia which make her dishes so divine …

Locally sourced, seasonal cuisine

At the Cabanon, true to tradition, we choose only the finest regional produce to create our original Mediterranean dishes.

Our goat cheeses are locally produced in the Anduze, and our fruits & vegetables are all handpicked in season, either from the Cabanon vegetable garden itself or a similar nearby garden.

Our meats are locally sourced from Aubrac or Aveyron and our fresh fish and crustaceans are locally sourced, where possible, from the Grau du Roi tide.

Le Cabanon is also proud to offer a refined menu of pizzas, featuring original creations such as the "Laurent Blanc" pizza or the "Pizza from Here”.

Cuisine infused with tradition and lovingly bought back to life

Discover, or rediscover, Angele's secret recipes in Karine Anfosso’s bohemian chic restaurant, in the heart of Brie, just across from the old temple of Anduze. Situated close to the breathtaking Bambouseraie gardens, which boast a scenic backdrop of rocky mountains, unspoilt rivers and beautiful pebble beaches of the Cévennes.

Le Cabanon is tastefully decorated to create a chic and friendly atmosphere which is infused with the Anduzian atmosphere of yesterday.

Private rooms and lounges are air conditioned.

The Cabanon and its terrace

La Terrasse du Cabanon invites you on an unrivalled Mediterranean gourmet experience, beneath the shade of the poplars, at the heart of Anduzian life where you can quench your thirst, discover authentic gourmet creations (and the hand-made ice cream)
